I remember how hugely the P20 Pro was praised. Huawei phones have always traded blows with the Samsung and Apple ones. The pictures look a lot more attractive than reality but somehow some people don't like it. I don't necessarily PREFER it over natural colours, but I definitely like them.

Anonymous, 18 hours agoMaybe ; but Huawei will be always be number one in my heart. My all time favourite phones Honor Note 10, Mate 20x and P 8max.. I had a lot of other garbage but these 3 are hands down the best in their time. Mate 20x is my all time fav. Largest screen in the world, huge battery, flat screen, good camera, ir port, headphone socket, Dua speakers, decent speeds - there is no competition...

It's their CEO... so he is trying to sell their brand. But their first phone, the V40, after the split from Huawei is worse in specs/price/quality than their previous 30 series. So for now what he says is a lie. The only thing i expect is a blatant price increase of their products trying to replace Huawei's place in the market due to the USA ban. But with worse phones. Time to time. Hopefully we have alternatives, Huawei still manufacture the phones with the best cameras and also Xiaomi has improved a lot with interesting phones that are top now.

Loved my Honor Magic 2. Until the USB C port failed. Fast charging stopped working, and the stereo sound output. Replaced it with Oppo Reno 10x Zoom, which is arguably more premium. But still 😢

Marvy, 19 Mar 2021Sorry, but no one but nerds depend on stock android, the average consumer simply doesn't ... moreIn India, most of the people prefer to flash roms. That's why Redmi Note and Redmi series was popular. Asus became popular with two devices and then they couldn't launch the device. Same happen with One Plus. They were fine with 5T and after that no such spectacular device except One Plus 7 Pro which was very costly. Prices are close to flagship yet they can't provide features which flagships provide.

"the new devices will have better camera and processing features, since the team is now cooperating with external partners like Qualcomm and Google, and is not relying only on internal manpower like Huawei"
This makes absolutely no sense. The reason why Huawei's image processing is so good is due to the fact they are solely relying on internal manpower (i.e. Developing an efficient noise reduction algorithms in collaboration with the overseas university and designing in-house ISPs that support it) instead of just buying chips from elsewhere. It's highly likely that they won't be able to pull the same software magic on SD SoCs like they used to be on Kirin, and also how does Google have anything to do with Honor's cameras lmao.

Maame Raggae, 19 Mar 2021If honor can build global presence like Huawei, it will be a great hitProbably this is what they want, but to surpass Huawei, will not be that easy.

Marvy, 19 Mar 2021Sorry, but no one but nerds depend on stock android, the average consumer simply doesn't ... moreIt's not value for money anymore. It has lots of bugs at the launch and then get solved over the updates(Software was one of the best in One Plus 3T and One Plus 5T,now they are failing in this too). Price has increased over the years but not the innovation and extra features compared to counterparts. 30Watt Charging was present in Realme too now so what's the distinct features One Plus is offering?(Realme offered 50Watt fast charging with Realme X2 Pro and software support was good too compared to One Plus 7T). No camera improvement over the years when sister company making leaps and bounds improvements in camera department. Vivo is not slouch too(Vivo V17 Pro has one of the best camera in midrange segment now Poco X3 has best camera setup). Why you need to change the design of One Plus 7 Pro when it was well received by consumers? I simply don't understand. No device in 350-450 USD anymore. No launch yet with snapdragon 870 powered device.

The Android Freak, 19 Mar 2021This is not necessary. Provision for unlocking bootloader and stock android skin is important ... moreIf hardcore tech enthusiasts are the only target consumer that would make sense, but if a phone company wants to simply "succeed" then they wouldn't have to have a stock Android skin let alone an unlockable bootloader.

The Android Freak, 19 Mar 2021One Plus will use Color OS in future and ditching Hydrogen OS. Might be a good move for them
A609134
ericwang, 19 Mar 2021Oneplus using Hydrogen OS in China, basiclly it is a Oxygen OS with some pre installed Chinese ... moreYeah, hydrogen OS is not that popular overall in China. I think Chinese consumers demand more features and Hydrogen OS is a little behind competitors in that regard. A rebranded Color OS might be more popular although it could alienate some of their existing customers
e31470
The Android Freak, 19 Mar 2021How about Oxygen OS like skin? Oneplus using Hydrogen OS in China, basiclly it is a Oxygen OS with some pre installed Chinese APP and remove pre install Google Store(still have GMS)
But it is not welcomed in China too(at least for most users)
Oneplus plan to use a rebrand Color OS(like Realme UI) on new oneplus 9 series phone in China.
