Honor V40 series is on its way to market and with it, a processor we thought we’d never see again.
Kirin 9000 is coming back with the Honor V40 phones in December, probably the last units from a batch made and sent by TSMC before the US restrictions.
Now, Honor phones aren’t in the same league as Huawei Mate and P ones. They’re more accessible by younger users and have lately focused on gaming. So, don’t expect the Honor V40 to be the same powerhouse as Huawei Mate 40. That doesn’t mean it’s not going to be a premium phone. Every rumor points to that.
Besides running on Kirin 9000 – which, by the way, scored better than the Snapdragon 875 in GPU performance – it’s going to have a flagship camera module.
We’re talking five lenses: a 50MP Sony RYYB sensor that’s able to get more light in than the RGB and two others on the back, a telephoto and an ultrawide. The same type of sensor is used in Huawei’s top of the line phones (the Mate and P lines), in case you didn’t know. That’s one of the things that makes their cameras some of the best out there.
Even so, Huawei was close to losing that deal forever. Sony wasn’t allowed to sell them cameras anymore, until recently. What did I tell you?! Honor V40 is Huawei’s lucky charm.
On the front, the V40 phones will have two cameras, and you should expect at least a 32MP with Super Night mode and a second 8MP one. It will definitely not be anything less, considering the V30 sported this combo.
And even if that’s impressive by itself, I have even better news: Honor V40 will not disappoint when it comes to charging.
The three phones that will make up the series – the vanilla V40, Pro, and Pro Plus -, are gonna be the first from Honor with 66W normal charging and 40W wireless charging.
